Fear

Darkness lurks
Shadows hover in the background
Waiting

The air is stifling
Space shrinks
I hurry on

Still the darkness finds me
Threatening
Whispers fill my head

The lights go out
I close my eyes
Afraid

My heart thuds in my chests
Perspiration flows
I shiver
But not of cold

Shadows surround me
One draws near
I scream
But it only whispers

"They are coming."
"They are here."
