Sitting here in the silence
Feeling strangely at ease
Reeling in the darkness
All around me
There's not a sound to be heard
Only my thoughts and steady heartbeat
The surrounding obscurity
cloaks the unfamiliar emotions that I have right now
Never was one to like the loneliness
That quietness brings
Surprised at the sudden serenity
It washes over me
Always needed company around
Their presence made me feel complete
Maybe it's time I learn that
I can be perfectly okay without you here with me
